Press Release

Location: Washington, DC

Protecting our economic and national security from cyber attacks and creating more American jobs through expanded trade top the House's agenda this week. Here's more from House Speaker John Boehner's (R-OH) press conference with Republican leaders this morning:

"The House this week will continue to focus on jobs and making sure that the American people's priorities are our priorities. I want to congratulate Chairman McCaul, Chairman Nunes for the work they've done on the cybersecurity bills that are on the floor this week. We've got a great threat. It's a great threat to the American people and a great threat to our economy, and I believe these bills will be very helpful in preventing the types of cyber attacks we've seen thus far.

"In addition, a lot of good work's been done on the trade promotion authority. Trade is good for America. It helps strengthen our economy, create more American jobs, and I applaud Chairman Ryan and Chairman Hatch, Ranking Member in the Senate Mr. Wyden, for the agreement that they have. This bill has a long way to go in both the House and the Senate and I wish them well. We need to get this passed."
